Creating Through The Catalogue | Under My Umbrella

2 August 2020

Hello on this beautiful sunny day!! Today I am continuing with the creating through the catalogue and today I am focusing on the Under My Umbrella stamp set with the coordinating Umbrella builder punch. This can be found on page 20 of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.

As all of Stampin' Up! coordinating sets they make so easy to create beautiful cards.

I have used various techniques to make these cards. For the first card I got some of the Subtles collection designer series paper and punch out the shapes for the umbrella using the umbrella building punch. I kept the large umbrella punched out shapes and stamped using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto the shapes to create the outline of the umbrellas. I then stamped the gumboot images and fussy cut them out using the same Subtles collection dsp. I stamped the images of three different flower stamps and coloured them using Stampin' Blends and fussy cut out the flowers.

I then got a piece of scrap Early Espresso cardstock and punched out the shapes of the umbrella handles and using multi-purpose liquid glue I adhered them to the umbrellas.

I then put a piece of whisper white through the embossing/die cutting machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder to create an interesting background.I then adhere the umbrellas, gumboots & flowers to the embossed whisper white layer using stampin' dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set and used the Tasteful Label dies to cut out the sentiment and also adhered to the whisper white layer with stampin' dimensionals.
I stamped some of the raindrops using Balmy blue Classic stampin' pad. I adhere the whisper white layer to a smoky slate card base.

For the second card I cut out the closed umbrella's using the umbrella builder punch with the Artistry Blooms designer series paper. Then using the memento tuxedo black ink to stamp the umbrella outlines onto the dsp. I adhered the umbrella handles to the umbrella images using multi-purpose liquid glue. I used a piece of whisper white cardstock and put through the embossing/die cutting machine using the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder.

I adhered the umbrellas to the whisper white layer using stampin' dimensionals. I then used Stampin' Write markers to colours different sections of the sentiment with matching colours to the umbrella images. I stamped the sentiment then cut it out using the rectangle stitched dies. I cut a length of the Faux Suede Trim and using mini glue dots adhered it to the whisper white layer. Using the multi-purpose liquid glue I adhered the whisper white layer to a Early Espresso cardstock card base.

I wanted to create a simple, clean card using this stamp set. I punched out the umbrella image and handle using the umbrella builder punch, then stamped the outline of the umbrella and handle onto the punch out pieces. I adhered the handle to the umbrella using multi-purpose liquid glue and then adhered it to a whisper white layer using stampin' dimensionals.

I stamped a simple clean image of the gumboots and added flowers to the top of the gumboots. I coloured the flowers in using Poppy Parade stampin' blend. I stamped the rain image above the umbrella using the Memento Tuxedo black ink. I then adhered the whisper white layer to a larger layer of poppy parade cardstock and then adhered those layers to a basic black cardstock card base. I stamped the sentiment using Poppy parade classic stampin pad and then using the embossing/die cut machine I cut out the sentiment using the rectangle stitched dies. I adhered the sentiment to the white layer using stampin' dimensionals. I then added a bow used with the Playful Pets trim and adhered below the sentiment using mini glue dots. To add a little interest and the look of water on the umbrella I added some of the Elegant faceted gems.
