Hello everyone! Today I created a live tutorial using the Snowflake Splendor suite from the current mini catalogue. The video tutorial is included at the bottom of this post.
Here is the first card I created:
Card 1 Gatefold Card
What you need:
Night of Navy Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Coastal Cabana
Cardstock, Pacific Point Cardstock, Pool Party & Highland Heather Cardstock.
Snowflake dies from So Many Snowflakes dies.
Snowflake Wishes Stamp set.
Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends & Seaside Spray Stampin’
Blends.
Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Pad, Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Pad,
Pacific Point Stampin’ Pad & Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Pad
Shimmery Crystal Effects
Blue Adhesive Backed Gems
Multi-purpose liquid glue
Paper Measurements:
Base cardstock (Night of Navy) 21cm x 14.9cm
4 x DSP 14.4cm x 4.8cm
1 x Whisper White 14.4cm x 10cm
1 x Night of Navy 23.5cm x 4cm (outer band)
1 x Coastal Cabana 23cm x 3.5cm (outer band layer)
Method:
Score the card base at 5.25cm at each end of the cardstock
(landscape)
Adhere the outer band layer onto the Night of Navy band
cardstock.
Score Band cardstock 6cm in from one end & 6.5cm the
other end.
Glue the overlapping ends together.
Cut out 3 different snowflake dies that are different sizes
and glue together then glue onto the band covering the join section. Place a large
blue adhesive backed gem in the middle of the snowflake die cuts.
Run two of the DSP strips through the embossing machine
using the Winter Snow Embossing Folder, then adhere to the front of the card.
If you use the same DSP as me, use the Stampin’ Blends to colour some of the
outer snowflakes in Highland Heather and Seaside Spray.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the sentiment
“Snowflake Wishes for a Merry Christmas” using Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Pad. Trim
down the edges around the sentiment and adhere the right side of the sentiment
to the right side of the front of the card.
Use Shimmery Crystal effects to go over the coloured
snowflakes and the sentiment if you wish to add some sparkle.
Adhere the two remaining DSP strips inside the flaps of the
card & adhere the whisper white layer to the inside middle of the card.
Using Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Pad stamp the Sentiment “May Your
Season Sparkle” to the inside Whisper White layer. Add a stamp of a snowflake
using Pacific Point and another using Coastal Cabana around the Sentiment.
You have finished the card!
Card 2
What You Need:
Pool Party cardstock for base of card 29.7cm x 14.9cm
2 x DSP 14.4cm x 10cm
3 x DSP 14.4cm x 7cm
1 x Whisper White cardstock 14.4cm x 7cm
2 x DSP 14.4cm x 3.7cm

2 x length of Snowflake Splendor ribbon
Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Pad & Pacific Point stampin’ Pad

2 x small blue adhesive backed gems
Multi-purpose liquid glue
Sponge dauber
Method:
Score the Pool Party base cardstock at 10.5cm, 18cm &
25.5cm
Fold and burnish mountain fold on the largest score line,
then fold and burnish back valley fold the next score line and lastly fold the
smallest score line forward mountain fold and burnish. The base of the card is
ready.
Adhere the largest DSP to the base of the card, then add the
whisper white layer ready for the sentiment on the next layer and continue.
Before adhering, the top smallest layer use mini glue dots to adhere one piece
of the ribbon to the front of the card, then adhere the DSP layer over the top.
This also applies to the large layer of DSP on the back of the card, adhere the
ribbon first with mini glue dots and adhere the DSP over the ribbon. This
ensures there is a neater look to your card. Add all layers of DSP.
Now adhere the whisper white die cut sentiment layer onto
the Gorgeous Grape cardstock layer and adhere the left of this layer in the
middle of the top of the card. Using a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock,
stamp the sentiment using Coastal Cabana Stampin’ pad, “May Your Season Sparkle”
and trim around the sentiment. Use Pacific Point stampin’ pad with a sponge
dauber and sponge lightly around the sentiment edge. Adhere the sentiment to
the middle of the sentiment layer. Add 2 x small & 1 x large blue adhesive
backed gems to the sentiment layer.
Lastly stamp the inside sentiment onto the Whisper White
layer using Pacific Point Stampin’ Pad, “In the Coldest moments of the year, my
heart is warm because you’re near”. Finish of the card by tying a bow with the
ribbon to hold the card together.
You card is finished!
